On Saturday, October 24, 2026, Powwow Dance Championships #2 brings elite powwow dancers, championship-calibre singing and head-to-head dance battles to Red Deer Resort & Casino in Red Deer, Alberta.
The most exciting moments of a powwow — all in one night
A traditional powwow can run for several days. For a first-time visitor, that can mean arriving for only a few hours and missing some of the moments longtime powwow-goers wait for: a one-on-one dance-off, an incredible championship song, a tiebreaker between elite dancers, or the moment the lights drop and a spotlight turns the dance floor into a stage.
Powwow Dance Championships was created around those moments. Think championship sport meets live concert, built around powwow song and dance. The lights go down. The spotlight comes on. Powerful drums fill the room. Then some of the best powwow dancers step forward to compete head-to-head.
Meet the champions behind the regalia
Powwow country has world champions, celebrated singers and dancers who have spent years mastering their styles, yet many people outside the powwow trail have never had the opportunity to learn their names or stories. PDC #2 is designed to change that. The audience gets to discover who the dancers are, understand the competition and then watch them perform under pressure.
Bullhorn Singers are coming to Red Deer
Championship-calibre Bullhorn Singers of Kainai Nation are confirmed for PDC #2. Their powerful sound adds the live-concert energy that makes a championship dance battle something you feel as much as watch.
Never been to a powwow? You are welcome
You do not need to know the dance categories, understand contest rules or have attended a powwow before. PDC #2 is a family event built so longtime powwow people and first-time guests can share the experience together.
