World of Dance show is a reality dance competition that is produced by celebrity Jennifer Lopez. It has already danced it’s way through three seasons and now they are into their fourth season.

The cool thing about Season four is that it will showcase a Native American Dance team called “Indigenous Enterprise” from Arizona. The Company has been doing Native American dance performances all over the World, including a recent trip to Australia.

The Dance Show is in it’s 4th season where dancers either solo or group dances perform to compete for 1 million dollars. The judges are none other than Jennifer Lopez, Ne-yo, and Derek Hough.

We caught up with Kenneth Shirley, Owner of Indigenous Enterprise and contestant on the upcoming 4th season, and asked him a few questions about the upcoming season and his experience.

Kenneth Shirley of Indigenous Enterprise

When Did You Start Your Company and Who Are All The Dancers Representing Your Business and Native American People?

I started Indigenous Enterprise in 2015. The crew that we got together for World of Dance is myself, Ty Lodgepole, Jorge Gonzales, and Eddie Munoz.

Why Do You Think It’s Important For The World to See Native American Dancers?

I think it’s important because the rest of the world doesn’t even know we exist sometimes. I went to Australia in December and for 80% of the time I was the first Native American they ever spoke to or seen. They thought we were extinct and gone from this world.

Is the Show Still Filming? Or is it All Finished, and How Was The Experience?

It’s done filming now.

It was wild, a lot of the crew members and film people were like, “It’s about time you get acknowledged and shown on this platform”.

It was cool meeting Jennifer Lopez and showing her Pow Wow Style. That was the first time she’s ever seen that in her life. Got to meet different dance groups from the Netherlands, philippines, and Columbia.

How Did You Guys Land This Opportunity. Was it a Tryout or You Guys Get Contacted?

It was both, they found us through Taboo from Black Eyed Peas. He filmed that video of me in London, UK. They reached out through email and had us come to LA to audition.

You Must of Been Dancing for a While Now. How Long Have You Been Dancing, Who Taught You to Dance, and Who Were Your Inspirations You Looked Up To While Growing Up?

I’m 24 years old been dancing since I was 2. I didn’t realize it till I got older but I grew up watching some of the greatest fancy dancers just cause of my location.

I would definitely see Spike Draper, Daryl Jack, Isaiah Bob in the parking lot whether it be a little rez Powwow or GON (Gathering of Nations).

Watching those guys growing up was always epic.

What is Keeping You Busy During Covid?

Making clothes and apparel.
