Tachi Yokuts of Santa Rosa Rancheria or Lemoore California

Tachi Yokuts of Santa Rosa Rancheria or Lemoore California

The Tachi Palace Casino Resort is actually on the reservation Santa Rosa Rancheria of the Santa Rosa Indian Community of the Santa Rosa Rancheria. It is located 4.5 miles southeast of Lemoore.

The tribe that inhabits these lands is the federally recognized Tachi-Yokuts Tribe. The word Yokuts means people and the word Tachi means mud duck.

Every year the Tachi Palace Casino Resort is host to the Annual Santa Rosa Days Pow Wow & Gathering which brings in tribes from all over the United States and also parts of Canada.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s not clear whether or not this year will be host to another wonderful celebration.
