This story comes from kahnawake out in Quebec area from our brother’s and sisters that way.
Long ago were not the dominate tribes or top of the food chain beings on this planet.
In fact, the mosquito’s had the ability to go into tribes and kill off people with ease. They would go and 3 of them would go and attack the people and they would die from them stinging the people.
Eventually the people pleaded with the mosquito and created a Treaty with them.
They came up with this agreement that the mosquito would not fully leave the humans alone because they also needed them to survive. The mosquito told the humans that they would only come in the summer but they needed something in return as well.
They needed our blood still so in the summer they would only come to take what they needed and not kill.
So now in the summer you will find the mosquito’s will come out and they will bite.
We may be mad about the mosquitos coming out and biting us to take some of our blood but we must be grateful that they are no longer coming to wipe out our tribes and communities from this agreement.
