Celebrate Culture, Dance, and Tradition in Regina, SK
The First Nations University of Canada Spring Celebration Powwow is back for 2025, bringing two full days of vibrant dancing, drumming, and Indigenous culture! This annual event is a highlight for dancers, singers, and spectators alike, offering a chance to experience the beauty and traditions of First Nations communities.

Grand Entry & Schedule
Each day of the powwow kicks off with a powerful Grand Entry, where dancers enter the arena in full regalia. This is one of the most breathtaking moments of any powwow, so be sure to arrive early and find a good seat.
- Saturday, April 19 – Grand Entry at 12:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m.
- Sunday, April 20 – Grand Entry at 12:00 p.m. (Only dancers in full regalia will receive G.E. points.)
Doors open at 9:00 a.m. daily, so come early and enjoy everything the powwow has to offer.

- Daily Pass: $15.00 + $3.00 Brandt Centre Fee
- Weekend Pass: $20.00 + $3.00 Brandt Centre Fee
- Children (5 & Under): FREE
Powwow Highlights
Dance Categories & Prizes
Dancers from across Canada and the U.S. will compete in different age groups and styles, including Fancy, Traditional, and Jingle dances. Prizes range from $75.00 to $1,200.00, making this a must-watch event for dance enthusiasts!
Categories include:
- Tiny Tots (5 & Under) – Exhibition only
- Golden Age Men & Women (55 & Up)
- Junior, Teen, and Adult Divisions for both men and women in Fancy, Grass, Traditional, and Jingle dance styles.
Singing Contest
Drum groups will compete for a grand prize of $12,000.00! With powerful vocals and heart-thumping beats, the singing contest is a key highlight of the powwow.
Miss FNUniv Ambassador
On Sunday, April 20, at 11:00 a.m., the powwow will hold a special crowning ceremony for the Miss First Nations University of Canada Ambassador. This title recognizes a young Indigenous woman who embodies leadership, cultural pride, and academic excellence.
Indigenous Tradeshow
Explore Indigenous crafts, beadwork, clothing, and art at the Indigenous Tradeshow, open from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. each day. Vendors will showcase unique handmade goods, making this a great place to shop for authentic Indigenous creations.
Pipe Ceremony & Honoring Veterans
The powwow committee welcomes all veterans to attend in full dress regalia, and a special Pipe Ceremony will take place on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. in the Lower Level of Brandt Centre.
