So health got significantly better since last writing.
We seem to be okay with food and supplies which I am very grateful for.
During this time I got to go through a great audiobook on Crazy Horse. It was very insightful on the ways of the Lakota.
I highly recommend anyone wanting to learn about Indigenous people to put that book in their library.
Couple things that stood out was how the woman would have the child for the early part of the child’s life and after the man would have the child when he’s ready to learn the warrior ways. This is if the child was a boy.
The child would be equipped with a child’s bow and arrow and practice shooting grass hoppers to get better.
A Mormon lost a cow one day and it wondered into Lakota territory and the Lakota ended up killing it and using it for food.
The Mormon lied and said it was stolen which lead to army men coming into Lakota camp and killing a leader which lead to Crazy Horse not trusting the white people.
This one event set off into a series of events of battles, lost love, fighting for ones ways and more.
…
I took a drive to Lloydminster to go and get my oldest son who will now stay with me till this whole COVID thing is over and done with.
I miss just being able to go out and simple freedoms we had lol. Reminds me of when they wanted indigenous people to sign treaties.
anyway let’s keep at it.
