If you are an artist and you want to get hired more often then read this post. This one trick will get you more consistent work and help you go full time as an artist.

When you are an artist who is starting to get gigs here and there, it’s not enough to go full time. Most times you are working a job that you’re not entirely in love with, well having to do your passion of your art on the side.

You wish you had more gigs and hopefully one day be able to quit your job and go full time with your passion as an artist.

Here’s How To Go Full Time With this One Trick

I use to be that artist that would only get gigs here and there. I worked full time as a sales rep at an electronics store and wanted more work as an artist because it was more fun and it made me happy.

The only thing is that I could never get consistent work as an artist, so that kept me locked in my job. I didn’t see any end in sight and so I just kept being an artist as a hobby or side hustle.

Then one day that all changed because I learned this one trick.

I got a gig to be part of the Canada 150 celebrations and got to travel to Montreal for a show. It was me and few other artists that I knew from around Canada.

My friend that was one of the artist I knew was killing it as an artist. He was always booked up and travelled everywhere doing what he loves.

I had to ask him what the heck he does to get as much work as he does. That’s when he told me the secret.

The Secret to Getting Hired Like Crazy as an Artist

So I asked my full time artist friend how he was getting so much work and this is what he told me.

He said to start hooking up people who get a lot of gigs with some work.

He said there’s lots of times that the artist who gets a lot of work in your field gets requested for dates that overlap, and so they have to turn down gigs.

When you are able to pass down some gigs or hire people that have a lot of work, they will reciprocate by recommending you they have extra work as well. It’s all about good karma.

How I implemented this secret to 10x my gigs and go full time

I took my friends advice and immediately implemented this to my own career as an artist.

Whenever I got a gig, I always asked if they were looking for any other acts. Sometimes they weren’t and sometimes they were.

When they did have room for extra, I let them know that I knew a few people who can do the work.

Now before I would hook up some friends and family but this time I reached out to some other artists I knew who I knew get a lot of work.

Immediately after hooking up a few influential artists, they would reach out to me and tell me they have opportunity for me.

Some of those well known artists couldn’t make it to some gigs because of overlap and hooked me up.

I started to get so much work that I started to get the opportunity to host the events and hire all the artists. Guess who I decided to hire?

How I finally went full time as an artist

From hooking up a lot of artists, the karmic energy just grew from there and I was getting bookings like crazy.

In business when demand is high, the cost rises. The same goes for being an artist.

When you have multiple offers from many different places, you can now go to the highest bidder or best experience.

I started doing gigs for $20 and some free food and got all the way up to $60,000 for one day being an artist.

Isn’t that insane?

This is just one trick that I know out of a whole bag of tricks that can help you as an artist go full time doing what you love.
